From track to street, tech transfer of Mobil 1 evolves with Corvette racing technology.

From the beginning in 1999 there was the C5.R and since then Mobil 1 has supported Corvette Racing through 97 victories. This partnership has resulted in eight wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and nine at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Through technology advancements in engineering the world is waiting to know - What’s Next?

Which motor oil does Corvette recommend?

Mobil 1 5W-30 is recommended for many generations of Corvette, but in any Corvette where a dexos®-approved motor oil is required, we’re recommending upgrading to Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W-40 for three key reasons.

Cold start protection

Up to 70% of engine wear may occur during the first 3 seconds of startup, Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W-40 is the only motor oil specifically developed to help protect the heart of a Corvette in extreme temperatures.

Wear protection

To help reduce oil consumption and provide maximum performance, Corvette engines include technologies patented PCV system, a variable- displacement oil pump, and Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W-40 which is specifically designed to help reduce oil aeration during aggressive driving.

Track to street on 1 oil

Chevrolet and Mobil 1 recognize that oil changes take away from track time and add costs, so Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W-40 is the first motor oil designed specifically for Corvette to deliver maximum performance on the street, on the track, and back, with one motor oil.
